Academic Training As well as taking part in practical activities such as Flying and Adventure Training the ATC also operates educational schemes; 2002 Sqn operates a training programme that offers a good balance between the practical activities and theory study. These training sessions typically take place on Parade nights at 2002 HQ. Training is progressive in nature and is designed to provide cadets initially with the knowledge they require to safely attend gliding or flying or take part in an expedition and later to address more complicated aviation subjects such as Air Navigation.
Classifications Cadets at 2002 Sqn progress through a system of classifications with an examination and award of a brassard badge upon successful completion. The classifications are described in more detail below as well as useful information to revise from.
